The photographs

Short pieces, mostly about the same things the photographs are about — time, light, what stays and what doesn't.

Consumption Without Pleasure

Everything is so fluid with sparks of magic spreading between your hands; The world on fire is but a dimension apart, leaving crumbs to toast without a heart;Wide eyed you see feelings everywhere but dare not stare and only judge with silent thoughts misunderstood;Misaligned views now show here and there and without a reason you really don't care; This land in time shifts off its axis and the horizon stares at innocence in the face, only to be shot down without disgrace.

Corn

Cut below the morning glow there lives little to bestow;Muddy fields living fresh beneath, searching for the morning breath;Flying high windmills try and say hello to the sky;Dancing low, clouds echo from below, the time is all but nine;Living one more day to shine above, the beauty of the dove and morning love.

Corvid 19 Soul

Purged are the sentries of our soul;Alone we are in this mortal hole;Defying our kind when rolls unwind and bread is stowed with only us in mind; How little we are to move so far without a North star to show us afar; Here into the minds eye we see, only fear over the sea;Yet servitude holds no bars, only limits from the stars; As blacksmiths fail and powers bail there is no truth without a sail; How can we toil and serve our grail without a torch to point and fail;Leading our fight of the small and slight; This is our chance to dance the rhythm of the mind;Gaining height and sight of land, we see only shadows without light;Helping hands must now prevail, untouched by form and given without being born; For we are the light within and the soul outside; We are the kind and the type to forge and fight; We are the people of this now and the people to see right now; There is only one if there is only you, but a World in view is bigger with all you too.

Dear Moon

Dear life of a soul without a goal and spirit full of life;Spinning aloft we see you in our hearts as we fight;Because you're there we must take your star and live with you amongst the stars;Yet moving closer we see behind the veil and into the unseen light in view of Mars;Into these realms we go of kingdoms up above and far behind;Yet here we are moving as a dove like peace in a steel glove;Saving ourselves we hold your hand and swing around towards the band;Crying goodbye while full of joy as we no longer plot and ploy; The moon is our friend and so are you, as you all are as one and two on this ark of earth and dew.

Forgotten Brethren

My forgotten brethren once breathed on this land and moved the earth with all their kind;Living beyond green pastures and above mountain tops there was life beyond a mogul soul, now forgotten and left down trodden; For strength does not come from the backs of others, it takes a peak at the Medusa's head and finds a way to look ahead

Frost

Battered from the night while dead in sight;Moving not, inside a cot of living cloth;Light now gives the day more life while melting the wisp of night;Giving back a beauty not shown or given flight; From beyond the show, what came without snow is more than time in tow.

Oak

Chanting in the wind, metal moves along a trail of souls;Memories just a whisper but the oak remembers all that fell and all that gave others blood; The screams buried in this wood bare more than tortured souls and more than living eyes dare see;Leading more towards a flashing edge of desperation there belongs no time, no place within this sanctuary of hope or tale without an end or beginning; The future is not now for without a candle there is no fire and without evil there is no good; All that see the pain will see more through the vines of life and to another place deep within our souls and peer at God;Leaving more to remember and leaving little left behind we are just viewers of our own soul.

Proclivity Remains

As proclivity remains the vast shall rule without order or border;Reaching beyond the stars but dying at Mars may give more than before;Though striving without passion gives depth to compassion and mercy without controversy; However fast or bright the soul, the goal will not always be told;Where licking the wounds of fellow man maybe all that remains under the shallow fan;To give order without orders is as a sentence without penance, so what is left under your presence;A dying heart now remains, beating aloud or not is not the question that should have stopped; It takes no shame to be the same unless wisdom you have forgot.

Sing Below the Line

Singing below the infinity line my sight breaks in two;Without words, without wisdom the entrails of these waves are spread before me;Is there hope without reason or mischief without rhyme; To show the same without a smile needs understanding of nature and nurture of kind; For the rotating globe we dance on is but an illusion of our memories, built without passion to guide our direction in the night.

Somme

This wall in my face as dark as night;I see blackness up above with all my might; What are those sounds beyond the light beyond this height;I now hear what lies up there, I now see the unknown while I stare;I must push inside my rattled heart and drag my soul through this part; Then strive once more for the path above and find the goal without my love.

Times

These intrinsic times, these pickled motions of interest, they punctuate the sun & scuttle the earth;Floating around the highest towers can be truth & reason hiding behind the cloud of a peasants revolt;Living forward we can only move, the path which those in a generation may not care;We must unite the contrast & hear the sound of reason before it passes in the air; From whence we came & where we go there's little meaning other than now & little more than all we care.

Transforming Hate

Waves crash into old rocks with angry haste;Trying to rise above a solid core and wanting more;Not knowing rocks are immutable in time and impervious to hate;Waves crash and spray over an imaginary floor;As hard as toughened beguile, granite knows no hate;While the ocean crush dances around and wants to harm;Transformation inside may occur, but only as diamond intestate;Leaving the wave a second of time, to punch the rock and hold a stair;Where a good foundation knows not to hate and just wants to be your mate;

Wanting More

Those who beckon for more will have little on the floor; Those with little effort will always fall while wanting more; Those scoring high think that's what it's all for, but what value is a pie in the sky; Those wanting to grow will know the way to go, while those who are all show will just have lawns to mow.

Water

Rocks flow as water dives;Minutes go as time divides;Above or below there are no strides;Only days within our demise;Where living within may leave you unkind;Yet living without will burst your mind;We are all just birds in the mine;Living our lives inside the wire; While moving beyond the conscious desire.
